The Committee on Judicial Policy recognized the draft law on e-commerce as non-contradicting to the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine

The bill (Reg. No. 2306a) is elaborated in order to systematize current legislation of Ukraine in the sphere of e-commerce and to ensure legal order of distance concluding and carrying out deals, using electronic informational and communicative means and technologies.

During the meeting of the Committee, it was noted that according to clauses 8, 22 of part one, article 92 of the Fundamental Law of Ukraine, only laws determine legal basis and guarantees of entrepreneurship, principles of civil responsibility. The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine does not support adoption of the bill and expresses several critical remarks to it. However, people’s deputies think that they do not concern contradictions of the bill to the provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine.
